Indian Power Management Academy Private Limited (IPMA) located at Bhopal is a recognized power training institute by CEA/ Ministry of Power, Government of India (GOI). It is a professionally managed organization with an objective to facilitate capacity building in power sector for sustainable power generation and safe & reliable transmission systems operation. CFBC Technology Seminars of 2013 & 2014 at Bhopal were part of our mission towards capacity building in the power & environmental sector..

IPMA has installed state of the art simulators for training of thermal power plant engineers and has been regularly conducting training courses at Bhopal and onsite at clients’premises including at Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited, Neyveli; Bharat Oman Refineries Limited, Bina for CFB Boilers and plants; Madhya Pradesh Power Generation Company Limited, Jabalpur and a few others.

IPMA faculty has been created by bringing experts together from various streams of power industry, such as design, manufacturing, quality, construction, O&M, academics and general management to share their wisdom and experience with the trainees and they are given forum to interact on a small matter to very critical issues concerning any product & process of the entire power island of fossil fuel and renewables from concept to commissioning.

IPMA was commissioned as consultant by the World Bank for identifying the educational institutes for introducing different courses for enhancing solar skills as well as drafting the implementing strategy to undertake the same including development of syllabus for various technical institutes around Rewa Solar UMPP of 750 MW.

Mr. Deo, Post Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from NIT- Bhopal, has over 40 years of professional experience encompassing design, manufacturing of Thermal Power Plant Equipment, Project Management & Corporate Planning and Former Executive Director of BHEL at Bhopal and formerly a member of Board of Governors of NIT- Bhopal. He is widely respected in power industry for his expertise in lean management and skill, training and human resource development. He is Director of IPMA. Mr. Deo is assisted by team of experts at IPMA, Bhopal.

Vinod Kumar

Mr. Kumar has 40 Years of experience in entire value chain of power sector starting with BHEL, Bhopal. It includes 30 years of entrepreneurial and professional experience in the senior management level in the various disciplines of the power sector, including setting up projects, project & trade financing, technology transfer.

Mr. Kumar holds B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Allahabad. He is also a recipient of Italian Government Scholarship for study in Thermal Applications from Solar Institute, Rome, Italy. Trained on 1 MW Solar Thermal and PV Solar plants in Catania, Italy.

Mr. Kumar has PG Diploma in Business Management from Birla Institute of Management Technology; PG Diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management from Ministry of Law - Indian Institute of Labour, New Delhi and “Executive Masters in International Trade” from IIFT, New Delhi to his credit.

Dr. L.K. Maheshwari

Professor Maheshwari obtained his M.Sc. (Physics) degree from the University of Lucknow (India) in 1965, and M.Sc.(Tech.) Electronics and Ph.D. degrees from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (India) in the years 1967 and 1971 respectively. He has published over 100 research papers in the areas of Semiconductor electronics, Instrumentation, Educational development and University-Industry linkages, etc. both in national and international journals and conference proceedings.

He is a Fellow of Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (India), Member of IEEE, USA and WACE, USA.

He is member of Executive and Academic Councils of many Central Universities. Mr. Maheshwari is also a member of Governing and other Planning bodies of over 20 institutions in the Country.

R. Kumar

Mr. R. Kumar worked as General Manager (IC), heading Engineering and R&D Department of Fossil Boilers Group in BHEL, Tiruchirapalli. After a distinguished service of 37 years in BHEL in boiler designs, he worked as GM, heading Engineering dept of L&T MHPS boilers pvt ltd (formerly known as L&T-MHI Boilers Pvt Ltd) at Chennai for 4 years which is a division of L&T POWER engaged in design and manufacture of Supercritical boilers..

Mr. R. Kumar graduated in Mechanical engineering from IIT, Madras in 1975 and a post graduate in “Design and production of thermal power equipment” from NIT, Tiruchirapalli, University of Madras. He was recipient of BHEL EXCEL AWARD in 2012. He served as a member in World Energy Council, UK representing India in 2011-13. He also served as Chairman, Institution of engineers, Tiruchirapalli Local centre in 2008-10.

Mr. Kumar was involved in developing the eco-friendly once thru supercritical technology boiler designs for higher capacity units like 660 & 800 MW units. He represented BHEL as a Task force member in Advanced Ultra Supercritical Program in 2011 -13 as part of National Technology Mission for Clean Coal development. Also he has been associated with CEA in various committees on standardization of 500MW technical specification, Report on blending of imported coals with Indian Coals etc.

His specializations include thermal and system design of boiler and boiler auxiliaries, tendering, proposals, and performance engineering and troubleshooting of boilers. He has played a key role in the evolution of boiler designs and indigenisation of technology to suit the high ash, Low grade Indian coals. He has specialized experience in the design and operation of lignite fired boilers and was associated with the installation of 4x210MW lignite fired boilers in Neyveli. He has been instrumental in the launch of new rating thermal sets of 150MW, 270MW, 300MW, 525MW and 600MW which were introduced by BHEL. .

Jari Anttila

Mr. Anttilla did his Masters in Control Engineering from Helsinki University of Technology in 1977. He also did corporate governance program from Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration. JOKO Executive Education Oy and International Management from NASEVA in 1991.

Mr. Anttilla is a member of Finnish Society of Automation, Automation Foundation in Finland; Chairman of the Board and Vice Chairman of the Board of Automation Support Ltd,.

Mr. Anttilla has more than 25 years of expertise in general management of companies. Management and development of corporate and business activities, especially in the areas of;

  2. engineering
  3. automation, electrification and information systems
  4. EU, Russian and Baltic area power and energy sector
  5. corporate planning and restructuring

Umesh Rautji

Mr. Umesh Rautji has been the Former Managing Director of M.P.Power Transmission Co. Ltd. at Jabalpur. He is a graduate in electrical engineering with 40 yrs of experience in the power sector. He was a leader of large size technical pool of engineers to looking after, managing and operating reliably the entire transmission network of Madhya Pradesh. has been associated in strengthening of the Power Transmission Network and improvising the reliability of the transmission network in Madhya Pradesh.

He is now associated with IPMA as advisor on capacity building in T&D Sector.
